Cell Phone Security
Cellular telephones have become a huge part of our daily lives. Most states no have (much needed) laws restricting their use while operating a vehicle and some businesses restrict there use when in their establishments. But what about personal security?
Data - we have gotten to a point where cell phones are our address books, phone books, calendars and so much more. They have pictures of our family and even our home address. Talk about an identity theft nightmare! Use the password protection built into your phone and consider not storing so much information.
Loss - If you lose you phone call and have it turned off ASAP.
Life Style Security - In the Military this is called Operational Security or OPSEC. We call it LIFSSEC. Essentially your life style is your business just like military operations are the military's business. Keeping that information secure is up to you and every member of your family. Criminals will listen in on your phone conversations and even though they only hear one side of it can tell you where you're going, what you're doing and who'll you'll be with. Be aware of the people around you and protect your conversation from the ears of others.
Although cell phones are one of the most important tools in our lives they can also be one of the most dangerous. Think about what you say when you talk on them, what you store in them and for heavens sake - hang up and drive!
